The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school, and about their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school.These volumes contain information pertaining to each pupil including: date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details are recorded about the child's parents or guardians: name, residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade and date of leaving the school are also recorded. Provision is made to record any occupation entered into on leaving school, but this column is more commonly used to indicate the school to which a pupil may have transferred.Girls and boys are listed on opposite pages in order of admission. In the first volume of the series, boys’ and girls’ admissions are numbered in two separate series, and the numbering of each series is continuous throughout the volume. In the second volume, boys’ and girls’ entries, although still on opposite pages, are numbered as one series, and the numbering of entries begins anew at the commencement of each school year, with the last two digits of the year-number being suffixed to each entry-number. Six boys’ admissions and three girls’ admissions for 1948 have been entered on originally blank pages towards the rear of the earlier volume; these are duplicated in the later volume at the appropriate place.Admission registers in paper format ceased in 1999 when the department moved to recording enrolment details in electronic format.

入学登记册的核心用途为记录入校学生及其家长或监护人的基础信息，同时亦可用于追踪学生在各年级的就读进度与离校日期。本批次档案卷册涵盖每名学生的如下信息：入学日期、学生姓名、出生日期、宗教教派、此前就读学校名称及离校日期。此外，还会记录学生家长或监护人的姓名、住址与职业信息，以及学生升入各后续年级的入学日期与最终离校日期。档案设有离校后从事职业的记录栏位，但该栏位更常被用于标注学生转往的就读学校。男生与女生的登记信息按入学顺序分别列于对页。本系列第一卷中，男女学生的入学登记采用两套独立编号体系，且每套编号在全卷内连续递增。第二卷中，尽管男女学生的登记信息仍分列对页，但二者共用一套编号体系；每学年伊始，编号都会重新起始，并在每条登记编号后追加对应年份的后两位数字作为后缀。早期卷册末尾的预留空白页上，补登了1948年的6名男生及3名女生的入学信息，该部分内容在后期卷册的对应位置亦有复制留存。1999年，该部门全面转向电子格式记录入学信息，纸质入学登记册自此停用。
