Abundance Analysis of New CEMP RR Lyrae Stars

Tonight, in the halo of the Galaxy, we observe variable carbon-enhanced metal-poor stars. These stars preserve chemical signatures of past stellar nucleosynthesis. We will use the WiFeS instrument in order to estimate accurate abundances of several elements. By doing so, we will determine how the first generations of stars produced the elements that surround us.

今夜，我们在银河系银晕中对变碳增强贫金属星（variable carbon-enhanced metal-poor stars）进行观测。这类恒星留存了早期恒星核合成（stellar nucleosynthesis）的化学印记。我们将借助WiFeS仪器精准测算多种元素的丰度，借此探明初代恒星如何合成了环绕我们周遭的各类元素。
