The data file ('Solubility data.txt') contains the measured solubility data of insect fat (Black soldier fly larvae, Hermetia illucens) in compressed CO2 according to the publication "Solubility of insect fat in compressed CO2: Experiments and density- as well as activity-based modeling" by Goldberg, T. Herdegen, V. (2025). Measurements were conducted at 4 set temperatures (298, 315, 336, 353 K) over a wide pressure range (15 to 60 MPa). The dataset includes all measured solubilities, each determined in at least duplicate, together with the corresponding temperature and pressure conditions (means and standard deviations). The given CO2 densities were calculated using the Bender equation of state, with their maximum fluctuation range resulting from the standard deviations in temperature and pressure. Except for 3 selected data points that refer to the crude insect fat (attached at the end of the file), all measurements were performed using the pre-cleaned insect fat obtained from liquid-liquid extraction with hexane and water. Further information on physicochemical properties and the fatty acid profile of the insect fat, as well as a detailed description of the experimental procedure, can be found in the associated publication.
