High pressure phases of Na2SO4

We request 3 days of beamtime on the PEARL diffractometer to study the structural properties of sodium sulfate, Na2SO4, at pressures up to 5GPa and temperatures up to 750K. In addition to confirming the presence of phase boundaries published in the literature, the experiment aims to solve the currently unknown structures of three high pressure phases. Such information will feed into our understanding of the structural systematics within A2MO4-type compounds and also provide important insights into the nature of any disorder of the Na+ and/or (SO4)2- units at elevated temperatures.

我们申请在PEARL衍射仪上开展3天束流实验，以研究硫酸钠（Na₂SO₄）在最高5吉帕斯卡（GPa）压力与最高750开尔文（K）温度下的结构特性。本实验除验证文献已报道的相界存在性外，还旨在解析当前尚未明确的三种高压相的晶体结构。此类研究成果将助力我们深化对A₂MO₄型化合物内部结构系统规律的认知，同时为理解高温环境下钠离子（Na⁺）和/或硫酸根（(SO₄)²⁻）单元的无序化本质提供关键科学见解。
