资源简介:
Objective: To characterize the factors associated with the hospitalization of patients with chikungunya from 2017 to 2023 in Brazil. Methods: Retrospective case series using CHIKV records with suspected case criteria and positive laboratory tests according to the Ministry of Health guidelines. A 95% confidence interval (CI) was considered for all statistical tests. Results: Factors associated with hospitalization included: pregnancy (OR 2.946, CI 2.687–3.229, p <0.001); fever (OR 1.072, CI 1.015–1.131, p = 0.012); maculopapular rash (OR 1.165, CI 1.124–1.208, p <0.001); emesis (OR 1.686, CI 1.621–1.754, p <0.001); nausea (OR 1.052, CI 1.011–1.094, p <0.001); conjunctivitis (OR 1.186, CI 1.111–1.266, p <0.001); petechiae (OR 1.223, CI 1.162–1.287, p <0.001); leukopenia (OR 3.706, CI 3.471–3.955, p <0.001); chronic kidney disease (OR 1.983, 95% CI 1.682–2.337, p <0.001); arterial hypertension (OR 1.524, 95% CI 1.442–1.609, p <0.001); diabetes mellitus (OR 1.482, 95% CI 1.380–1.592, p <0.001); autoimmune disease (OR 1.553, 95% CI 1.311–1.839, p <0.001). Conclusion: The analyzed data indicate that the clinical profile described should be used to adopt preventive measures to reduce hospitalizations.
