Gene expression profile at single cell level of colonic epithelial cells from the distal colon

The colon is densely innervated by nociceptor neurons. Single cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) of colon epithelial cells was performed to analyze the role of nociceptor neurons and Ramp1 signaling in regulating colonic epithelial cells. Overall design: Colonic epithelial cells were purified by Fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) from nociceptor knockout (Nav1.8Cre_P_DTA) mice, epithelial specific Ramp1 knockout (VillinCre_P_Ramp1) mice and their littermate control mice. The purified cells were used for scRNAseq using 10X.
