Building permits and new homes; key figures, 1995-2011

This table publishes key figures on: — the sum of the building permits granted for residential and commercial buildings; — the number of new homes for which a building permit has been issued; — the number of new homes that have been completed. The data for the new-build homes are broken down by client for construction and by type of property (rented and owner-occupied houses). The results for the period 1995 to 2002 relate to the value of the building permits granted with a construction sum starting from 45 thousand euros. As of 2002, the lower limit of observation has been raised to 50 thousand euros. Data available from Q1 1995 to Q4 2011 Status of the figures: The figures are final. When will there be new figures? This table was discontinued as of 11 April 2012. Reason for discontinuation: The data on the housing stock come from January 2012 from the Basic Registrations Addresses en Gebouwen (BAG); these figures do not match existing statistics. The housing stock figures from January 2012 will be published in other monthly and annual tables.
