The survival costs of paternal care in Appasus japonicus

This dataset comprises the mark-recapture records utilized in the present study. From March 16, 2020, to August 25, 2020, a total of 44 mark-recapture sessions were conducted on Appasus japonicus. During each capture, the sex, pronotum width, and the presence or absence of egg-caring behavior were recorded for each individual. Following these measurements, each was marked with a unique ID on the thorax and subsequently released at the site of capture. The abbreviations used in the dataset are as follows: N = Non-caring; C = Caring.
