There are so many such targets that even with strict filters to ensure targets are small planets several unconfirmed TESS candidates are transiting at any one time. CHATEAUX proposes to use time-critical P3 Cheops observations of a filtered and ranked set of TOIs which would be able to be scheduled between higher-priority time-critical Cheops observations. We expect these filler observations will produce useful scientific observations of TOI candidates including ephemeris improvements TTV detection improved radius precision and improved false positive probabilities (thanks to both ruling our chromaticity and centroid shifts). 摘要:绝大多数凌日系外行星巡天卫星(Transiting Exoplanet Survey Satellite, TESS)的目标天体(TESS Objects of Interest, TOIs)尚未得到确认,部分原因在于缺乏配套的后续观测。此类候选目标数量庞大,即便经过严格筛选以确保目标为小型行星,任意时刻仍有大量未确认的TESS候选体处于凌星状态。本研究计划CHATEAUX拟利用优先级为P3的紧急时间窗口CHEOPS观测资源,对经过筛选与排序的TOIs集合开展观测,此类观测可被安排在优先级更高的紧急CHEOPS观测任务的间隙中执行。我们预计,这类填补式观测将能获取TOI候选体的有效科学数据,包括星历表精度优化、凌日时间变分(Transit Timing Variations, TTV)探测、半径测量精度提升,以及假阳性判别概率的优化——这得益于我们可以通过观测排除色度效应与质心偏移两类干扰因素。
