Joint effects of resource supply and resource types on properties of population dynamic models

We explored how the resource supply ratio affected the critical parameters including species’ intrinsic growth rate and interaction strength in phenomenological models, and consequently the population dynamics.We fitted the Lokta-Volterra model and the Reciprocal model to simulated population dynamics generated by mechanistic consumer-resource models with known underlying ecological processes.We investigated how the predictive abilities of phenomenological models change with the speed of resource dynamics relative to consumer dynamics in one consumer-one resource system via simulation experiments.

本研究探究了资源供给比率如何影响现象学模型（phenomenological models）中的关键参数——包括物种内禀增长率与种间相互作用强度，并进而作用于种群动态过程。我们将洛特卡-沃尔泰拉模型（Lokta-Volterra model）与互惠模型（Reciprocal model）拟合至由搭载已知潜在生态过程的机制性消费者-资源模型所生成的模拟种群动态数据中。我们通过模拟实验，探究了单消费者-单资源系统中，现象学模型的预测能力如何随资源动态相较于消费者动态的相对速率发生变化。
