Electricity production in the United Kingdom 2010-2022, by source

Coal is being steadily phased out of the United Kingdom's electricity supply mix. In 2010, coal power amounted to 107.6 terawatt-hours. A decade later, less than 10 terawatt-hours were annually produced from coal. Meanwhile, in 2022, renewable sources were the main fuel used for electricity in the UK, with nearly 135 terawatt-hours generated. Nevertheless, in the second position was gas, with 125 terawatt-hours worth of electricity generated.
