We investigated the effect of online infodemic exposure on perceived health threats (perceived severity and susceptibility) and mobile payment adoption behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic in Taiwan. We collected the data from 259 active mobile payment users (242 valid samples) through an online survey through Line Platform. The data showed online infodemic exposure significantly affects mobile payment adoption behavior through perceived severity. Additionally, the data showed the inverse effect of people's internet usage intensity, in which people with low internet usage intensity indicate a greater proclivity to adopt mobile payment than those with high intensity when online infodemic exposure increases.
