LINGUISTIC AND EXTRALINGUISTIC FEATURES OF OXYMORON
收藏资源简介:
Abstract: this article explores the phenomenon of the oxymoron in linguistics, examining it not only through linguistic factors but also in inseparable connection with extralinguistic sociocultural, psychological, and cognitive factors. The research sheds light on the structural-semantic and lexico-grammatical features of the oxymoron, analyzing its linguistic nature that emerges in speech through the combination of logically contradictory concepts. Simultaneously, the article deeply investigates the extralinguistic causes that trigger the formation of contradictory combinations in language, such as complex human emotions, socio-political changes in society, and cultural transformations in the information age. The results indicate that the oxymoron is not just a stylistic device subordinated to internal linguistic rules, but a multidimensional linguo-cognitive phenomenon that reflects objective real-world contradictions through human thought.
