To examine phenotypic changes in hematopoietic cells due to matrix properties and heterotypic interactions of hematopoietic stem cells and mesenchymal stromal cells. Conclusion: Material properties and increasing concentrations of heterotypic signals cause differential hematopoietic lineage, with an increase in HSC maintenance occurring with moderate MSC signals in a low-diffusive environment. All conditions were performed with 3-6 replicates
