Unit 14_BG32_Demography & Paleopathology

Pueblo Grande demography/paleopathology data sets are by burial group (BG) under each project heading. If the burial group for a feature is unknown, the data are identified only at the project area or stripping area level. Data contained include age, sex, stature, and presence/absence of various indicators of stress and infectious disease listing elements affected. Stature estimates (when preservation allowed for measurements of femur and/or tibia length) were calculated using corrected regression formulae (del Angel and Cisneros, 2004) originally derived by Genoves (1967). Indication of presence/absence of some diseases (e.g., scurvy, rickets, tuberculsosis, coccidioidomycosis, treponematosis) is followed by presence/absence information of specific skeletal indicators associated with that disease (e.g., bowed long bones, vertebral lytic lesions, caries sicca). This particular data set is for BG 32, which includes information on 82 burial features. del Angel A, Cisneros HB. 2004. 普韦布洛格兰德（Pueblo Grande）的人口统计学/古病理学数据集以各项目标题下的墓葬群（Burial Group，缩写BG）为分类单位。若某遗迹所属墓葬群信息不明，则仅按项目区域或剥离区域级别对数据进行标识。本数据集包含年龄、性别、身高估算值，以及各类应激与传染病感染迹象的存在/缺失情况，并列出受影响的骨骼元素。
当遗骸保存状况允许测量股骨和/或胫骨长度时，身高估算值采用修正后的回归公式计算（del Angel与Cisneros，2004），该公式最初由Genoves（1967）推导得出。
部分疾病（如坏血病、佝偻病、结核病、球孢子菌病、密螺旋体病）的存在/缺失记录后，会附带该疾病相关的特定骨骼病变迹象的存在/缺失信息，例如长骨弯曲、椎体溶解性病变、干性骨疡（caries sicca）。
本数据集特指墓葬群32（BG 32），包含82处墓葬遗迹的相关信息。
