资源简介:
These datasets provide information about mineral separates taken from three bedload samples in streams that have no hydrologic connection to the Greenland Ice Sheet and one sample from a stream that drains meltwater from the Greenland Ice Sheet. These streams represent a continuum of time since the Greenland Ice Sheet began to retreat across the landscapes after the Last Glacial Maximum. The mineral separates were hand-picked from the sand fraction of the bulk bedload. Data include the mass fractions (weight percent) of multiple minerals from the suite of minerals that comprise bulk bedload samples (dataset: "Mineral compositions by size"). The fraction of minerals are also divided into sand and silt sizes. Data also include trace element compositions of the mineral separates and their neodymium, strontium, and lead isotope ratios (dataset: "Mineral paper Dataset"). The weight fractions of the mineral separates coupled with the neodymium, strontium, and lead concentrations in the mineral separates allow calculations of the elemental fractions of each mineral contributing to composition of the bulk bedload for each element. These two datasets are used to evaluate changes in mineral weathering and bulk sediment mineral assemblages as chemical weathering approaches equilibrium with time since the Last Glacial Maximum.
