VPRS 9680 Research Papers of Cecil Edwards

This series comprises papers that were collected by Cecil Edwards in the process of researching and writing "Brown Power: A Jubilee History of the State Electricity Commission of Victoria", which was published in 1969. Cecil Edwards was engaged from 1965 to 1969 to draft and complete the manuscript on the basis of the work begun by the research unit. The research unit was established in 1965 and co-ordinated by Noel Goss, the consulting editor.The files and papers contain research notes, extracts from articles and other publications that were compiled by individuals within the research unit and Mr Edwards. The files also contain newspaper clippings, photographs and correspondence (originals and copies) about significant events or issues in the history of the organisation that were supplied by various sections of the SEC.This series also includes files and papers containing correspondence relating to the administration organisation of the project, including minutes of meetings of the unit, progress reports, draft manuscripts and discussions on which aspects of the SEC would be presented in the history.
