Regional habitat disturbance explains population dynamics of tree species in a local experiment in the Amazon
收藏资源简介:
Regional habitat disturbance explains population dynamics of tree species in a local experiment in the Amazon Overview This repository contains the data and derived products used to investigate how regional habitat disturbance influences the population dynamics of Amazonian tree species. The dataset integrates species occurrence records, environmental predictors, spatially explicit outputs from species distribution models (SDMs), and indicators of habitat degradation. These data support analyses linking large-scale disturbance patterns to local demographic responses. Data Components 1. Species Occurrence DataGeoreferenced occurrence records of tree species across the Amazon basin. These data were compiled from multiple sources and standardized to ensure spatial and taxonomic consistency. Each record includes species identity, geographic coordinates (latitude/longitude), and, when available, sampling metadata. 2. Environmental VariablesRaster layers representing environmental predictors used in SDMs. These include climatic variables (e.g., temperature and precipitation), edaphic properties, and other relevant abiotic factors. All layers were harmonized to a common spatial resolution and extent covering the Amazon region. 3. Species Distribution Model OutputsSpatial predictions generated from SDMs for each focal species. These outputs represent habitat suitability across the study region and are provided as continuous raster layers. Model calibration followed standard procedures for SDMs, and outputs are suitable for downstream spatial analyses. 4. Habitat Disturbance and Degradation DataSpatial layers quantifying habitat disturbance, including land-use change and degradation intensity. These data capture variation in anthropogenic pressure across the Amazon and are used to assess the relationship between disturbance gradients and species population dynamics. Data Structure and Formats Tabular data: .csv Spatial raster data: .tif (GeoTIFF) Metadata and documentation: .txt or .md (README files) All datasets are organized in a structured directory with clear naming conventions. Metadata include variable descriptions, units, coordinate reference systems, and data provenance. Methods Summary Species occurrence data were cleaned and filtered to reduce spatial bias and ensure data quality. Environmental variables were selected based on ecological relevance and low multicollinearity. SDMs were calibrated using presence data and environmental predictors, generating spatial projections of habitat suitability. Habitat disturbance layers were derived from remote sensing products and land-use datasets.
