This dataset includes the visitor survey form in English and the collected data.A structured questionnaire, consisting of 26 questions, was used for a visitor survey at Old Dongola, Sudan. Old Dongola is an archaeological site located in the Northern State. The site was visited by 1028 non-Sudanese visitors from February 2019 to January 2020.The survey aimed to understand the demography of non-Sudanese visitors to the site, modes and styles of travel, their interest and knowledge about the site and archaeology, their sources of information, and their experience of Old Dongola. The 26 single or multiple-choice questions were divided into three themes; 1) Communication (Transportation), 2) Archaeology, and 3) demographic questions.A random sampling method was applied to collect the data in Old Dongola. The collection of the data was carried out by Tomomi Fushiya, Katarzyna Radziwiłko, and Mohamed Hassan Siedahmed in February 2019.38 respondents answered the questionnaire and two were omitted from the analysis because these were answered by a tour guide. The analysed responses were in total 36 (Female 12; Male 10; No answer 14). The collected data was entered into a spreadsheet on Microsoft Excel by Tomomi Fushiya for analysis. The data collection was carried out as a part of the Dialogue community engagement project (2019-2022) within the framework of a multidisciplinary project, ArchaeoCDN. Archaeological Centre of Scientific Excellence, led by Dr. hab. Artur Obłuski (PCMA, UW), funded by the Grant Dialog 0298/2018, from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Poland.Tomomi Fushiya conducted the fieldwork at Old Dongola as a member of the PCMA, UW archaeological project, headed by Dr. hab. Artur Obłuski (the director of PCMA, UW). The PCMA, UW Old Dongola project has obtained research permission to work in Old Dongola from the National Corporation for Antiquities and Museums, Sudan.
