数据来源于DMSP美国国防部的极轨卫星计划，现有DMSP为三轴姿态稳定卫星，运行在高度约830km的太阳同步轨道，周期约101min，扫描条带宽度3 000km。DMSP卫星采用双星运行体制，两颗业务卫星同时运行，过赤道时间为05∶36及10∶52，每6h可提供一次全球云图。本数据中心将原始数据进行下载、预处理、融合尺度重建得到2010-2013年全球1km稳态夜间灯光数据。
The dataset is sourced from the Defense Meteorological Satellite Program (DMSP), a polar-orbiting satellite initiative of the United States Department of Defense. Current DMSP satellites are three-axis attitude-stabilized spacecraft operating in a Sun-synchronous orbit at an altitude of approximately 830 km, with an orbital period of roughly 101 minutes and a scan swath width of 3000 km. The DMSP constellation employs a dual-satellite operational mode, with two operational satellites operating simultaneously. Their equator-crossing times are 05:36 and 10:52 respectively, allowing the acquisition of global cloud maps every 6 hours. This data center processed the raw data via downloading, preprocessing, scale fusion and reconstruction to generate global 1 km steady-state nighttime light data for the period 2010–2013.
