This study aimed at characterizing the fibrolytic activities of CCMM Bacillus strains toward complex polysaccharides representative of dietary fibres entering the colon during digestion. Bacillus paralicheniformis and Bacillus licheniformis exhibited hemicellulolytic activities. Genomic features of these strains revealed a complete set of GH genes dedicated to the degradation of various polysaccharides.
