List of 1627 differentially expressed genes in blood samples of breast cancer patients with metastasis who died during follow-up, compared to healthy controls.

We performed limma analyses with a moving window in time to identify time periods after breast cancer diagnosis where cases and controls had different gene expression profiles. Significant genes were defined as genes that were significant for at least one time period out of a total of 22 periods. If any genes reached significance in an identical number of periods, the median of the p-values was calculated, and the genes were sorted by this median. The list is sorted by the number of time periods where each gene reached significance, hence the top of the list are the genes that were significant in the highest number of periods.
