Based on the type and specification of the photovoltaic (PV) modules for smart street lights, relevant parameters of the Electroluminescence (EL) tester are configured, including detection voltage, current, exposure time, and more. Subsequently, the defect types and locations of the PV modules are analyzed based on the luminescent images provided by the EL tester. This testing workflow can be applied in the following two aspects:
1. Defect Handling: For detected defects, timely recording and processing shall be performed. Different remedial measures such as repair or replacement can be adopted according to the defect type and location. The causes of defects can be divided into two categories: raw material-related causes and human-induced causes. Although the quality of incoming raw materials cannot be fully controlled, it is entirely feasible to eliminate such defects by strengthening management in each relevant manufacturing process to mitigate the impact of human factors, while ensuring that all PV modules pass the EL test before shipment. For smart street lights, rough on-site installation by personnel can also lead to secondary occurrence of defects.
2. Report Compilation: Organize the test results into clear, concise and easy-to-understand reports, so that production and management teams of other enterprises can fully grasp the performance status of smart street lights and the improvement measures that need to be taken.
For smart street light products, daily EL testing is carried out each month before shipment. Relevant parameters of the EL tester, such as detection voltage, current, exposure time, detection position, etc., are set based on the type and specification of the PV modules for the smart street lights. Then, the defect types and locations of the PV modules are analyzed based on the luminescent images provided by the EL tester. The test results are summarized daily to count the defect type and location with the highest proportion in the current month. Timely recording and processing shall be conducted for the defect type and location with the highest proportion, and corresponding remedial measures shall be taken accordingly.
