Share of individuals switch health insurance Netherlands 2011-2019, by insurance type

This statistic shows the share of individuals who switched health insurance companies in the Netherlands from 2011 to 2019, by type of insurance. In the Netherlands it is allowed to cancel one's health insurance and change insurance companies up to the 31st of December each year. If one chooses to cancel his or her contract and makes this known to the company before the end of December, the contract will end per January 1st. Until the 1st of February one can then choose another insurance company. In 2019, three percent of all Dutch individuals with a health insurance switched companies and changed to an individual insurance.
