The purpose of this study was to characterize carbapenemase-producing Enterobacteriaceae in dogs and humans, with an emphasis on identifying shared plasmid types, resistance genes, and clonal groups to help understand the potential for cross-species spread.Carbapenemase-producing Escherichia coli and Klebsiella pneumoniae isolates were found in both human and canine samples. Different carbapenemase genes were detected, including blaNDM and blaOXA, and their identity was confirmed by Sanger sequencing. Plasmid replicon typing identified various plasmid types, with IncFIA and IncFIB being the most prevalent.
