The aim of the proposed experiment is to develop a high-pressure synthetic route to nitride perovskites AReN3 (A = Ca, Sr, Ba). Synthesis will be performed in diamond anvil cells by heating Re with alkaline earth metal azides Ca(N3)2, Sr(N3)2 and Ba(N3)2. The reaction products will be studied by means of powder and single-crystal X-ray diffraction at the ESRF beamline ID27.
