Genetic Characterization of the Partial Disease Resistance of Rice to Bacterial Panicle Blight and Sheath Blight by Combined QTL Linkage and QTL-seq Analyses

The study utilized QTL-mapping and QTL-seq to identify genomic regions from a mapping population developed using Louisiana rice cultivars that might confer resistance to bacterial panicle blight and sheath blight. This would provide foundational information to establish resistance breeding programs by providing necessary and critical information that could be utilized to design markers that could be used to expedite selection process. Also, this would give direction to understand the mechanism behind the resistance traits to bacterial panicle blight and sheath blight.
