Postharvest physiology of <i>Corchorus olitorius</i> baby leaf growing with different nutrient solutions

The storage at 4°C in darkness of <i>Corchorus olitorius</i> L. baby leaf as a ready-to-eat (RTE) vegetable has been studied for the first time. <i>C. olitorius</i> was cultivated in a floating system with different nutrient solutions: standard (NS100%) or halved (NS50%). Several quality factors of this produce were evaluated during season (spring, summer, autumn) considering treatments and days of storage in order to understand the interactions. During storage, sucrose, total and reducing sugars, nitrate, phenolic compounds, anthocyanins, chlorophylls, and carotenoids were measured. Results showed that chlorophylls decreased by 20–30% for both treatments and the changes were statistically different during spring. Carotenoid content did not change until the end of the storage and values ranged from 0.60 g kg<sup>−1</sup> to 0.75 g kg<sup>−1</sup> fresh weight depending on the season. Phenols and anthocyanins decreased within 10 days: −40% of phenols and −50% of anthocyanins, respectively. No interaction between nutrient solutions and storage behaviour was reported. Thus, <i>C. olitorius</i> resulted to be a good source of nutraceutical compounds and it is able to maintain these components during storage. Moreover, the public interest in regards to nutritional and healthy food is rapidly increasing, promoting the discovery of new vegetables, like <i>C. olitorius</i>, for RTE commercialisation.
首次针对长蒴黄麻(*Corchorus olitorius*)幼苗叶作为即食(ready-to-eat, RTE)蔬菜的4℃黑暗贮藏特性展开研究。该作物采用浮板栽培系统,分别以标准营养液(NS100%)或减半营养液(NS50%)进行培育。本研究在春、夏、秋三季开展,综合考量营养液处理与贮藏天数的交互效应,对该产品的多项品质指标进行评估。贮藏期间,测定了蔗糖、总糖与还原糖、硝酸盐、酚类物质、花青素、叶绿素及类胡萝卜素的含量。结果表明,两种营养液处理下的叶绿素含量均下降20%~30%,且该变化在春季呈现统计学显著性差异。类胡萝卜素含量在整个贮藏周期内未发生显著变化,其含量范围为0.60 g kg⁻¹至0.75 g kg⁻¹鲜重,具体数值随季节有所差异。酚类物质与花青素在贮藏10天内分别降低40%与50%。未观测到营养液处理与贮藏行为之间存在交互作用。由此可见,长蒴黄麻是优质的营养保健活性成分来源,且在贮藏过程中能够维持这类成分的含量。此外,公众对营养健康食品的关注度正快速提升,推动了长蒴黄麻这类新型蔬菜的即食商业化开发。
