The role of a glucosinolate-derived nitrile in plant immune responses

To investigate the processes affected when plants are exposed to 3-butenenitrile (3BN; allyl cyanide ACN), we performed a genome scale transcriptional profiling of Arabidopsis thaliana Col(0) and the nia1nia2 double mutant after 24 hour treatment with 3BN. 21-day-old Arabidopsis thaliana plants (Col-0 and nia1nia2) were exposed to 3BN vapour for 24 hours. Rosette tissue used for each biological replicate were harvested separately and immediately flash-frozen in liquid N2. Each sample consists of three biological replicas from 3BN-treated and mock control plants.
