Data files for 'Demography: Fast and Slow'

This project includes the data used for the article ‘Demography: Fast and Slow’, accepted for publication in <i>Population and Development Review. </i>See the paper as well as the Appendix: Supplemental Materials for details.<br><br>Here is a brief description of the files containing the estimates of <i>PTR </i>and <i>MST</i> used for the paper. The data (in .csv format) can be downloaded from <i>figshare</i> (doi:10.6084/m9.figshare.16751869)..<b></b>· The file <i>Data_labels.csv</i> contains the country labels used in Figures 2 and 3 in the main paper.<b> </b>· The file <i>Data_paper.csv</i> contains birth, death, immigration and emigration rates, and the derived estimates of country-level <i>PTR</i> and <i>MST</i> used in the paper (five-year intervals between 1990-95 and 2015-20), using Abel-Cohen estimates based on the “Demographic Account Pseudo Bayesian Closed” method. · The file <i>Data_robust.csv</i> is equivalent to <i>Data_paper.csv </i>but it is based on Abel-Cohen “Demographic Account Minimisation Closed” estimates of migratory flows.<b> </b>· The files <i>Data_Italy.csv</i> and <i>Data_Germany.csv </i>contain respectively the data on birth, death, immigration and emigration rates, and the estimates of annual <i>PTR</i> and <i>MST</i> for Italy and Germany.

· 文件Data_labels.csv包含主论文中图2与图3所使用的国家标签。
· 文件Data_paper.csv包含出生率、死亡率、入境移民率与出境移民率，以及本文所用的、基于"人口统计账户伪贝叶斯封闭（Demographic Account Pseudo Bayesian Closed）"方法的Abel-Cohen估算结果得到的国家级PTR与MST衍生估算值，时间跨度为1990-1995至2015-2020年的五年间隔时段。
· 文件Data_robust.csv与Data_paper.csv内容一致，但采用基于Abel-Cohen"人口统计账户最小化封闭（Demographic Account Minimisation Closed）"方法的移民流动估算值。
· 文件Data_Italy.csv与Data_Germany.csv分别包含意大利与德国的出生率、死亡率、入境移民率与出境移民率数据，以及两国的年度PTR与MST估算值。
