Manila clam microbiome

The clam microbiome plays a crucial role in both host health and ecosystem dynamics, yet it can also harbor pathogenic and antibiotic-resistant bacteria that pose risks to aquaculture and human consumers. Our research focuses on characterizing the microbial communities associated with clams, with particular emphasis on identifying potential pathogens (e.g., Vibrio spp., Aeromonas spp.) and antibiotic-resistant strains.
