Association between screen time to dental caries risk among 12 years old school children in Mangalore city- A multiphase study

Today’s generation with their digital technology competence are being more exposed to devices like smartphones, electronic tablets, laptops, televisions and video gaming devices. All this affects children’s learning, their health related behaviours, attitudes and there overall growth and development. . It also leads to increased consumption of high sugar foods , and sweetened beverages making children prone to dental caries Thus we wanted to find association between screen time and dental caries risk among 12-year-old school children in our study.

当今一代儿童凭借其数字技术素养，愈发频繁地接触智能手机、平板电脑、笔记本电脑、电视及电子游戏设备。此类接触行为会对儿童的学习、健康相关行为与态度，以及整体成长与发展造成负面影响。同时，该行为还会导致儿童高糖食品与含糖饮料的摄入量上升，进而使其易患龋齿（dental caries）。因此本研究旨在探究12岁学龄儿童的屏幕使用时长与龋齿风险之间的关联。
