Matlab files of shipboard vertical microstructure profiler (VMP) transects. Matlab files of acoustic doppler current profiler (ADCP) transects and of microstructure transects, and csv files of CTD transects performed with AutoSub Long Range (ALR) under Dotson Ice Shelf, measured during the NBP2202 expedition between 20 Jan 2022 and 07 Feb 2022, used in the manuscript Richter et al. (in prep). All data except the VMP data were collected onboard AutoSub Long Range deployed from Nathaniel B Palmer. The VMP data was collected from Nathaniel B Palmer. The data are part of the the Thwaites-Amundsen Regional Survey and Network Integrating Atmosphere-Ice-Ocean Processes (TARSAN) project, a component of the International Thwaites Glacier Collaboration (ITGC; https://thwaitesglacier.org/). Filenames VMP_DIS_front.mat ALR_CTD_<dive>.csv – the CTD data adcp_ALR_<dive>.mat – the ADCP data <dive>_hotelfile.mat – the microstructure data dive is along, east, centre_short or centre_long. VMP_DIS_front.mat contains the variables eps_bin – turbulent kinetic energy dissipation rate (epsilon) in vertical 10 m bins (W kg-1) VMPdepth – depth of the bin (m) lonVMPfront – longitude of the deepest record in the cast latVMPfront – latitude of the deepest record in the cast timeVMPfront – time of cast, matlab datenum format ALR_CTD_<dive>.csv contains the variables Time (UTC), latitude, longitude, pressure (db), Conservative Temperature (degC), and Absolute Salinity (g kg-1) The CTD data were collected at 1 s frequency with a Seabird 52MP CTD adcp_ALR_<dive>.mat contains a matlab table with the variables time (UTC), latitude, longitude, depth (m), meridional velocity (m s-1), zonal velocity (m s-1) The ALR ADCP data were collected at 1 s frequency in twelve vertical 8 m bins with an upward and a downward looking RDI 300kHz ADCP and were processed with modified code from Eleanor Frajka-Williams' GitHub page (https://github.com/eleanorfrajka/alr_processing_dynopo), which builds on Rick Pawlowicz's RDADCP functions (https://www-old.eoas.ubc.ca/~rich/#RDADCP). <dive>_hotelfile.mat Contains a matlab structure with microstructure data converted to physical units using the ALR speed through water. The structure tree is given in the Readme, further information can be got from the ODAS Matlab Library v4.4 “A Guide to Data Processing”, RSI technical note 039. The microstructure data were collected with a Rockland MicroRider. See README file for details on the file structure
