This project compared the N2O and CO2 emissions between an annual cropping system (corn) and a perennial cropping system (hay), each subject to different manure application treatments. We addressed the following questions: 1) How do the net GHG budgets compare between the annual and hay crops, 2) how does the timing or method of manure application affect the GHG emissions, and 3) how do weather conditions affect GHG emissions. GHG emissions were taken using multi-plot flux gradient methodology for 4 side-by-side 4 ha plots. Measurements were continuous.

本研究对比了一年生种植系统(玉米)与多年生种植系统(饲草)的一氧化二氮(N₂O)、二氧化碳(CO₂)排放特征,两类种植系统均设置了不同的粪肥施用处理。本研究旨在解答以下三个核心问题:1)一年生作物与饲草作物的温室气体(Greenhouse Gas, GHG)净收支存在何种差异?2)粪肥施用的时机或方式对温室气体排放有何影响?3)气象条件如何影响温室气体排放?本研究采用多样地通量梯度法,对4块并排的4公顷(hectare, ha)样地的温室气体排放进行了连续观测。
