DeepSedHg version 1.0: A global database of deep-time sedimentary mercury concentrations and isotope compositions

DeepSedHg version 1.0 is a global compilation of published sedimentary mercury (Hg) concentration and Hg isotope records spanning approximately 2.7 billion years of Earth history. The dataset contains 28,264 sample-level records compiled from 199 peer-reviewed publications published between 2010 and February 2026. Records include Hg concentrations, Hg isotope compositions, stratigraphic information, numerical ages, lithology, depositional setting, modern and paleogeographic coordinates, and associated geochemical variables. The dataset is provided in CSV format together with a ReadMe file describing variable definitions, units, usage notes, and citation information.
