Production of volatile organic compounds by marine bacteria from coastal seawater

The goal is to identify VOC production derived exclusively from bacterial metabolic processes by incubating marine bacterial assemblages with glucose as a carbon source. Surface water samples with the natural bacterial community were collected at the coast near the Shimoda Marine Research Center, Shizuoka, Japan, in June 2019.
