Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) is a global chronic disease with long duration and repeated relapse. Currently, it still lacks effective approaches of preventing IBD. Food derived oryzanol possesses excellent anti-inflammatory bioactivity. However, the mechanism of its activity in preventing colitis remains unclear. In present study, the preventive mechanism of oryzanol on colitis was investigated in a dextran sulfate sodium (DSS)-induced animal model.
