A mooring deployed in Hudson Strait between Big Island and Wales Island from September 2006 to August 2007 was equipped with an upward looking sonar (ULS) to measure sea ice draft. Hudson Strait is the main pathway of heat, mass, and freshwater exchange between Hudson Bay and the Arctic and North Atlantic Oceans. Hudson Strait inflow affects the physical and biogeochemical cycles and ecosystems of Hudson Bay. The ULS data were processed according to their manufacturer specifications.
2006年9月至2007年8月,一套部署于大岛(Big Island)与威尔士岛(Wales Island)之间哈德逊海峡(Hudson Strait)的锚系观测潜标搭载了向上视声呐(upward looking sonar, ULS),用于测量海冰吃水。哈德逊海峡是哈德逊湾与北冰洋、北大西洋之间热、物质及淡水交换的核心通道。哈德逊海峡的入流过程会影响哈德逊湾的物理循环、生物地球化学循环及其生态系统。该向上视声呐的观测数据严格按照厂商提供的技术规范进行了处理。
