The dataset for analyzing the impact of shopping carts on transaction amounts covers two core metrics: Wanxiangtai-promoted visitors and transaction amounts. As a key indicator for Tmall merchants, Wanxiangtai specifically reflects the capability of Taobao ecosystem operators to attract intelligent scenario-based visitors. The comparison of decline rates between Wanxiangtai-promoted visitors and transaction amounts can provide data support for in-site brand promotion, offer data references for budget allocation decisions of operators in similar or related industries, and empower business growth with data-driven insights. 1. Data Collection: The dataset is collected from Tmall channel system and Tmall Business Advisor data spanning January to November 2023 and January to November 2024. Collected dimensions include channel, source, time, traffic source, shopping cart visitors, and transaction amount. Sensitive information has been encrypted, and data preprocessing has been conducted. 2. Algorithm Specifications: The visitor-transaction elasticity coefficient Ed is calculated as Ed = (ΔQ/Q) ÷ (ΔP/P), where Q represents the total number of shopping cart visitors from January to November 2024, P represents the total transaction amount over the same period, ΔQ denotes the year-over-year change in total visitors, and ΔP denotes the year-over-year change in total transaction amount. The absolute value of Ed (|Ed|) is utilized as the reference coefficient for data analysis. 3. Data Analysis: The elasticity between shopping cart visitors and transaction amounts can be analyzed based on the value of |Ed|: (1) When |Ed| = 1 (moderate promotion elasticity): The change magnitudes of shopping cart visitors and transaction amounts are consistent; (2) When 1 < |Ed| (highly elastic promotion): The change magnitude of shopping cart visitors exceeds that of transaction amounts; (3) When |Ed| < 1 (inelastic promotion): The change magnitude of search visitors is smaller than that of transaction amounts.
