This research was a pragmatic mixed-methods study into the effectiveness of a literacy game, The Mythical World of Hīnātore. A large amount of data was collected. From 109 participants there were diagnostic tests, mind-set surveys (two per respondent), game surveys, class writing tests, and journal reflections. Not all 109 respondents completed post-game surveys and there was TEC online literacy data (two sets) for approximately 40 participants. There were also surveys completed by lecturers who trialed the literacy game. There was a second group of narrative inquiry participants. The data includes repeated interviews with these participants plus the transcriptions of all interviews. Most of the thematic analysis into the narrative inquiry information and the open questions on surveys was conducted manually. The digital part of this data is available here. There is also further survey data on SurveyMonkey. The paper data is contained in three boxes in a locked filing cabinet.
