Open access in global health research 2010–2014

This dataset contains a set of 3,366 research articles indexed in PubMed under the Medical Heading Subject Heading “Global Health” published between 2010 and 2014. For each of these papers the access type  was determined on the paper (i.e., gold OA, delayed OA, green OA, hybrid, other free access, toll access) as well as the journal level (gold OA, delayed OA, hybrid, subscription). Article processing charges were identified for gold and hybrid papers to estimate the cost of OA and the fees obtained by each publisher. For a subset of 2,655 publications indexed in the Web of Science (WoS), citations were analyzed per access type and country of citing authors, classified by the World Bank Atlas (WBA) country group.

本数据集收录了PubMed数据库中以"全球健康（Global Health）"为医学主题词（Medical Heading Subject Heading）收录的3366篇研究论文，发表时间跨度为2010年至2014年。针对每篇论文，我们对其访问类型（即金色开放获取（gold OA）、延迟开放获取（delayed OA）、绿色开放获取（green OA）、混合出版模式（hybrid）、其他免费访问模式、付费访问模式）以及所属期刊的层级（金色开放获取、延迟开放获取、混合出版模式、订阅制）进行了判定。针对金色开放获取与混合出版模式的论文，我们识别了其论文处理费（Article Processing Charges），以此估算开放获取出版的成本以及各出版商获得的相关费用。针对其中2655篇被Web of Science（WoS）收录的子样本论文，我们按访问类型与引用作者所属国家开展引文分析，引用作者所属国家按照世界银行图集（World Bank Atlas, WBA）的国家分组标准进行分类。
