X-ray emission in the Eta Chamaleontis cluster

The Eta Chamaleontis cluster (68 Myr, d virgul 97 pc) is one of the most importantnearby T associations. Its members are in an evolutionary stage in which warminner discs, and consequently most of the accretion phenomena, are lost. Theseare also the time scales of planetary formation and migration. We propose tomake observations pointed at the centre of the Eta Chamaleontis cluster usingthe EPIC cameras. We will analyse the Xray emission of the detected sources.Our aim is to establish a complete census of Xray emitters members of thecluster and characterize their corona in terms of temperature, emission measure,and Xray luminosity.
