This data was used for Supporting Materials in the study by Kuraji et al (2020). In this study, we used <sup>45</sup>Ca as an index of bone turnover and demonstrated for the first time that a unique site-specific nature of calcium metabolism occurs in alveolar bone during progression of ligature-induced periodontitis. During periodontitis, <sup>45</sup>Ca levels in the alveolar bone exhibited biphasic alterations, namely decreases and increases. In addition, <sup>45</sup>Ca uptake was suppressed at the alveolar crest close to the site of periodontal inflammation but enhanced in deep zones of the alveolar bone and furcation areas, which were distant from the site of ligation. <br>
