Genomic analysis and Antimicrobial Resistance of Multi Drug Resistant Enterococcus Species Recovered from Livestock and Raw Meat in Ghana

The aim of this study was to characterize AMR and virulence genes in Enterococcus species from meat and livestock samples to generate data that can support future AMR control efforts in animal husbandry in the country. Our objectives included also the assessment of virulence and AMR genes transmissibility and the nosocomial potential of Enterococcus species using phenotypic AST and whole-genome sequencing.
