Abstract: This article discusses the notion of grammar based on use by presenting a discursive approach to grammar teaching, aiming at discussing the complexities of the grammatical system as a function of its communicative purposes. The article also brings an analysis of some grammar activities developed by Brazilian teachers of English as a foreign language from an in-service diploma course at a public university in Brazil. Such activities corroborate the idea that a theoretical approach to grammar and use can be an integral part of language teaching.

摘要:本文通过提出语法教学的语篇式进路,探讨基于使用的语法概念,旨在剖析语法系统的复杂性与其交际目的的关联机制。此外,本文还分析了巴西某公立大学在职文凭课程中,巴西英语作为外语教师所开发的若干语法教学活动。此类活动佐证了如下观点:语法与使用的理论路径可成为语言教学的有机组成部分。
