Junco hyemalis Genome sequencing and assembly

We sequenced a high quality genome of a Junco hyemalis specimen (Moore Laboratory of Zoology voucher number: MLZ:bird:69236) by combining shotgun and proximity ligation libraries at Dovetail Genomics, LLC. The main goal was to obtain a suitable reference genome for RADseq and whole genome sequence analysis in order to study patterns of divergence a signs of local adaptation at the genomic level across the Junco genus.
