Synthetic population of Estonia (SyntPop 3)

A synthetic population of Estonia: 1,375,556 persons in 593,300 households, each placed in a real residential building, with age, sex, activity status, occupation, education, household income bracket, mother tongue and car use, household structure, workplace and school locations, and travel mode. Generated from Census 2021 and population register tables, national population grids calibrated to 2024, building and address registers, and locality-level aggregates from Statistics Estonia's secure research environment; work and school locations combine register home–work and home–school matrices with a mobile-positioning origin–destination matrix and the EELU 2021 travel survey. Built during the development of an activity-based travel demand model (ActivitySim) for Estonia at the Department of Geography, University of Tartu. No record describes a real person or household. Files: building-level households, persons and buildings; origin–destination matrices at 1 km and locality level; and 1 km grid-cell versions of the household and person files. Full field descriptions, validation and usage notes are in README.md.
