Neuronal differentiation is a complex multi-step process that entails heavy genomic, transcriptional, and translational reprogramming. Using transcriptome-wide mRNA stability sequencing and motif search in differentiated and undifferentiated SHSY-5Y cells, we identified SAMD4A to play an important role in this process via regulating mRNA stability. Here, we attempted to knockdown SAMD4A using shRNA and analyzed the impact of SAMD4A loss on mRNA levels and stability in SHSY-5Y cells.
