Simplified fecal community transplant restores Clostridioides difficile colonization resistance to antibiotic perturbed murine communities

Here we demonstrate simplified fecal communities can restore colonization resistance to specific antibiotic treated communities. Using 16S rRNA gene sequencing of fecal samples collected daily from each mouse, we characterized the changes in the bacterial community that associated with inhibition of Clostridioides difficile colonization. Based on these experiments, we narrowed the necessary community to restore colonization resistance to streptomycin treated mice.
