The grain size record of Lake Daihai sediments spans approximately 10,000 years, revealing that monsoon precipitation in the lake basin can be divided into three stages: the Early, Middle, and Late Holocene. During the Early Holocene (~7900 years ago), the median grain size (Md) and silt content remained relatively low and stable, indicating relatively low precipitation in the lake basin. The Middle Holocene, spanning approximately between 7900 and 3100 years ago, is characterized by highly variable monsoon precipitation, as evidenced by the highly fluctuating Md values and silt content of the lake sediments.
